Welcome to the
Real Estate Agent Directory add listing page. (Listings
without photo are FREE!)
*If you are looking for other places to list your site you may also want to check out the new real estate directory at http://www.buying-a-home.com/resources/. Do you have a real estate blog? List it at http://www.real-estate-blogs.com!
Realtors, you need to have a web site to be listed in this directory.
We will not accept for inclusion single page and doorway-style web sites - the
submitted site must be your actual website with content residing within the
same domain.
We are not a link
exchange - we are a directory of Realtors and it
just happens that one of the ways to be listed is to install a reciprocal link
that meets certain criteria. We only list a Realtor
once so we can't include all of your websites.
This directory places very highly in most major search engines
for real estate agent related keywords and will send prospects to your web site.
In addition, the directory significantly enhances your own web site's link popularity
and your own search engine rankings. In order to make that happen and keep our
site ranked well by search engines we need to have strict inclusion criteria
which is outlined below.
Agents and Brokers who wish to be included in our directory may choose to pay for a photo listing or may be listed for free with no photo.
Photo listings appear in at the top of each directory page for added exposure. If you would like a photo listing there is an annual fee of $39.00. You can make your payment instantly online here. Once payment has been received we will email you instructions for adding your listing to the directory.
To be listed for free you must first reciprocate by providing a link from your web site to the directory. The only way you can truly provide a reciprocal link is if that link can be found by search engines.
* To
avoid wasting your time it is recommended that you read this entire page so
you understand the inclusion criteria!
There are two ways of doing this.
*If you have a template site - you likely do not have a search
engine friendly links page and would not be eligible for Option A. In addition,
you would only be eligible for consideration under Option B if you did not have
the link opening in a frame due to the scripting used by template site companies
- use your providers "no frames" option if they have one.
Option A: You can provide a text link to us from any
page within your web site. This is only an option if you have a search-engine-friendly
web site that is capable of being spidered by search engines for inclusion in
their search results.
Very Important! This page must actually be a part of
your web site which means the url of the page must be from your domain. This
excludes some of the link building programs used by some Realtors which use
a links page based on another web site. This page within your web site must
also be indexable by search engines and be included in Google's database. This
may exclude some web site pages where the pages have been dynamically generated.
The link itself must be indexable (eg. not using javascript or cgi).
How To Check If Your Links Page Is Indexed: You can check if the page
you intend on placing the link on is in Google by placing your mouse over the
links page, right-clicking, and choosing "Properties" from the resulting
menu. This brings up a box with the actual page url. Now that you know the page's
real url, first check and make sure it is from the same domain as your site
- it may be from a links management program.
If it is from the same domain, copy the actual page name and
go to Google and paste it in the search box - "http://www.mydomain.com/pagename.html"
where "http://www.mydomain.com/pagename.html" is the page name you
just copied in the previous step.
* Do not use the Google Toolbar to do this as it will take you to the page
whether it is listed or not. You need to paste the url into the search box at
Google.com and not into the search box on the Toolbar!
This command will show whether Google has the page included in it's index. If the is not found - sorry, your page does not appear to be included in Google's index.
If you can't find the page you wish to place the link on in Google than you can place the link on another page that is in Google - or you can try submitting the page using Google's Add URL feature and then check in about a month to see if the page has been included in Google's index.
* There is another issue that would result in your links page not meeting the inclusion criteria. If your page is dynamically generated using session IDs, Google may index your page but will not follow any of the links on the page making any links on the page worthless as a reciprocal link. Look at this url - it should be written in standard html. If the url has any non-text characters in it - specifically question marks '?' or equal signs '=' then the links contained on that page can't be followed to the web site and does not meet the inclusion criteria.
** There is one more issue that is rare but may cause your link to not meet the inclusion criteria. If after careful examination we determine that your website has likely been penalized by Google with their PR0 penalty -i.e a domain that is more than 6 months old, that previously had Page Rank (seen using the Google Toolbar), lost it all and now shows up for no searches or shows up with just the URL listed in Google - your site would be deemed to not meet the inclusion criteria. We need to do this in order to protect our site and our existing link partners as Google also penalizes innocent sites just for linking to penalized sites. In case you were not aware, the PR0 penalty is usually given to domains that participate in linking schemes that Google deems to be against their guidelines and the effect of the penalty is usually permanent.
How To Check If The Links Themselves Are Indexable: This next step is especially important for template sites! One other thing to check is the actual links themselves on the links page where the link would reside. When you place your mouse over one of the links to a Realtor listed on the page, you will see the actual url the link points at in the status bar of the browser window.
Look at this url - it should be written in standard html. If the url has any non-text characters in it like question marks '?' or equal signs '=' then the links are written using scripting that can't be followed to the web site. There is no benefit from such a link. Such links do not meet the criteria for inclusion.
Below is the suggested code which you may cut and paste into your web site if you wish.
Once you have determined that your links page is in Google's index and you have placed the link on the page, email us including the url of the page where you placed the link and once we verify that the link has been installed we will email back with instructions for adding your listing to the directory.
<!-- Begin Cut and Paste -->
<a href="http://www.epoweredprofessionals.com/">Epowered Professionals Real Estate Agents Directory</A>
<!-- End Cut and Paste -->
The resulting link will look like this: Epowered Professionals Real Estate Agents Directory
Option B: You may place our "Recommended By" graphic and link on the main entry page of your web site. The main entry page must still meet the same inclusion criteria as Option A but the odds are that your main entry page will meet the criteria even if the rest of your site does not. If you choose this option, we will also place the "Recommended by" graphic beside your listing in the Directory which will help lead directory users to choose you over other agents in your area.
Below is the suggested code for installing the graphic if you have a white or light background on your web page. If you have a colored background use the alternate code located below the first graphic. Below that there is a smaller graphic available that may fit on your page better if you find the first two choices too large.
Once you have placed the graphic and link on the main entry
page to your web site, email
us including the url of your web site and once we verify that the graphic
and link has been correctly installed we will email back with instructions for
adding your listing to the directory. Remember - the link itself must be indexable
(eg. not using javascript or cgi) and your main entry page must be included
in Google's index and meet the same inclusion criteria outlined in Option A.
Note: Template sites often use scripting to link to
other sites that opens the linked site in a frame and does not meet the criteria.
It is of no benefit as a reciprocal link. Most template will have an option
where you can turn this feature off to ensure that the link will qualify and
you will be eligible for option B.
